Best Practice Paper: CCGs Responding to Francis & other National Quality Reports
Given the challenge laid down to all NHS organisations as a result of serious quality concerns reported, not only within the Francis Report, but the subsequent failings identified in other independent reviews, it is essential that commissioning organisations have robust processes for challenging their providers around the quality and safety of the services delivered. In response to this issue 360 Assurance has undertaken assessments of the robustness of CCG arrangements for taking national quality reports and using these to improve services to patients, inform commissioning decisions and challenge their service providers, whilst keeping their Governing Bodies appraised of progress or concerns. The results of our work have been summarised into our latest best practice paper, Responding to Francis and other National Quality Concern Reports, launched at our Quality Assurance Forum meeting for Commissioners.
