The Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) are due to replace the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) in April 2022. This webinar will bring you up to date on the timing of the next steps (and the chances of further delay), provide guidance on how each organisation can best prepare now for LPS, and allow plenty of time for Q&A about how it will affect your organisation.

There’s a lot to do if we are to get to implementation by April 2022 – the LPS Code of Practice, rolled in with the updated MCA Code of Practice, is due out shortly for a three month consultation, and several sets of Regulations will have to put some flesh on the bare bones of the legislation.

Tens of thousands of staff across health and social care will need to be trained to various levels; policies, procedures and resources must put in place, with a particular challenge for the NHS organisations taking on new responsibilities. Each ICS will have the extra complication of stepping into the shoes of the CCGs for these purposes.

This session will be jointly delivered by Hill Dickinson and 360 Assurance, to cover both the legal and governance/clinical quality issues.
